Would you like to enter into deeper conversation with yourself and the natural world? Are you ready to explore soul centred practices to challenge and enrich? Are you called to follow your deepest most secret longing?
This Wild Soul experience will provide a rich and lasting experience.
WHO: The joint venture between Adventure Out, Terry Hewett and Bridging The Landscapes, Petrine McCrohan has a unique blend of, between them, over 60 years of experience, knowledge and gained wisdom.
WHERE:This collaboration is the opportunity to choose which experience best suits your needs. The Wild River, Wild Soul walk trails our First Nation people walked for millenia, on a meandering journey of approximately 35- 40 kms, following the downstream passage of a wild river, the Dunham East Kimberley region, WA. The Frontier Camp sets up a base camp to explore day walks/adventures in the surrounding areas.
WILD SOUL IN VICTORIA
The Kimberley based Wild Soul operates for a short period only, May - August. The rest of the year, these experiences happen in a more urban landscape, in and around Melbourne, and in other parts of Victoria. There are half day, and day trips close to inner city Melbourne with a view to reinvigorate our urban soul. Many of us live in cities, so how can we connect deeply to our wild selves in an urban landscape? We don't have to wait until we leave the city, until we have holidays, we can use the tools anywhere! Join us, set an intention, cross the threshold and see what happens right there in your neighbourhood parkland.
Please contact Petrine directly for more information.
WHAT TO EXPECT: For those seeking more than a ‘break away from the grind’, or a ‘holiday’, Terry brings expert bushcraft skills, local knowledge guidance and visionary leadership qualities. For those interested in soul exploration, Petrine has practices and tools that will provide avenues for deeper reflection, psychological education and insights into that which we may not be consciously aware, but lies just below the threshold.
So here is a simple structure we follow for the Wild Soul experience; this creates a different environment for connecting with nature and our deeper selves:
We gather to place ourselves intentionally in sacred space together.
This will be to honour and release that which no longer serves us.
We have all experienced significant and deeply challenging, painful and ultimately transforming times over the past two years, which impact how we progress with our lives.
It is important to create a momentum forward, to bring in the new possibilities and potential seeding within us. We will provide space for both.
1. A time, a pattern, a repetitive complex, betrayals, regrets, (examples only) or survival mechanisms that served us well earlier in life but have now outgrown its/their previous role.
2. Pen and notebook or voice activated notes.
3. Thoughts on what grief and longings have amplified particularly during the pandemic.
A Simple Structure
Open in a circle to introduce ourselves (for those who haven’t met)
Each person then offers their indication of intention - why we are each there and what longing may reside within.
You may want to have a think about what it might be that helps you shift consciousness. Things such as a short period of silence and meditation to be helpful when shifting into sacred consciousness.
Or you may bring your own objects
Our Wild Soul Walk - on each day we will:
1. Cross a threshold and set an intention
2. Pay attention to your senses and your emotions
3. Walk with your questions, speak them out loud, share them with another non-human being.
4. Pay attention to your surroundings; notice what calls to you on the edge of your awareness.
5. Record insights in your journal if needed.
6. Offer gratitude and cross back over a threshold to end your walk.
Return to the circle, share, (if we feel to), give thanks.
"We are talking only to ourselves. We are not talking to the rivers, we are not listening to the wind and stars. We have broken the great conversation. By breaking that conversation we have shattered the universe. All the disasters that are happening now are a consequence of that spiritual autism."
– Thomas Berry 1914-2009

He has worked with organisations to develop treks designed for self-exploration and self-reflection, promoting self- responsibility at all levels, to be our best self.
Terry has a passion for giving. He has served his community by volunteering and raising funds for national charities, in excess of 11.5 million dollars. A true Aussie hero!
‘Our wild selves possess astonishing resources, untapped potentials and depths that we might not even know exist until we discover how to access them, cultivate their strengths, and eventually integrate them into our everyday lives.’
Petrine offers a complimentary set of skills that allows participants to access deeper parts of self. There are great mysteries in being alive and with most of us staying firmly planted in our personalities and sub personalities, we can often miss the ‘trails’ that can lead to encounters within our unconscious mind and our deeper soul purpose. The trails we walk will be enhanced by practices that will open us to discover many inner secrets.
Petrine has over 25 years in the fields of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, traditional Aboriginal social enterprise development and healing practices. Her interest in the interaction between the conscious and unconscious mind and the natural world, guides us to parts of ourselves we may have only but glimpsed or perhaps, neglected for a lifetime.
These insights and tools can be taken back to your daily lives, knowing that what is experienced will continue to enhance and deepen moving forward.
